The Towne House Retirement Community will be hosting Poland’s internationally famed “Children of Plock,” on Tuesday, March 16, at 4 p.m. at The Towne House Retirement Community’s “Towne Hall.” Formed in 1946, the Children of Plock are Poland’s oldest children’s ensemble. The group has performed in more than 6,000 Polish national and regional dances and folk rituals throughout the world.
“We are very excited to be hosting this world famous children’s ensemble,” says Sarah Horacek, The Towne House Marketing Director, “especially considering that we are not on their “official” schedule. A resident of ours happens to have a close connection to the group and was fortunate enough to arrange a performance.”
The Ensemble has performed in a variety of venues from countryside schools to the biggest European concert halls such as Royal Albert Hall in London and Grand Theatre in Warsaw. Well-known Polish composers and choreographers collaborate with the Ensemble. The children’s ages range from 12 to 17 years old. The group will include 28 student dancers and a five-member band.
